Randy Back is a Partner of The James Randall Group, LLC. Randy has more than 15 years of search experience, both in the contingency and retained space. Randy is committed to consulting with clients and to do what is in the client’s best interest. As true search consultants, we strive to earn and maintain the highest degree of trust and respect with our clients. This trust as a valued partner is developed through the successful and timely execution of search assignments, and in professionally representing our clients in the highly competitive talent marketplace.

Prior to forming The James Randall Group, LLC, Randy was a Principal in the Seattle office of Morgan Samuels Company, a top 20 retained search practice based in Los Angeles, California. Randy was a member of the company’s executive committee and was responsible for securing and executing senior level search assignments.

Randy previously spent 11 years as an executive recruiter with Ajilon Finance where he was a top producer for the organization and was instrumental in building the Seattle offices’ executive placement division as both an executive recruiter and division manager. During his tenure at Ajilon Finance, Randy specialized in accounting and finance search and worked with companies of all sizes, including many Fortune 500 companies. His clients spanned many industries such as banking, finance, retail, manufacturing and health care.

Randy began his career with GNA (Great Northern Insured Annuity) in 1990. In 1993, GNA was purchased by GE Capital with the intent to become one of the largest financial services providers in the country. As a member of the financial reporting group, Randy’s responsibilities included internal and external (including SEC) reporting requirements, merger and acquisition analysis, and technical accounting guidance. Randy also played a contributing role in the organic and acquisition growth from $6 billion to $40 billion in assets under management.

In addition to Randy’s work experience, he has 15+ years active service in the community. Randy is involved with several Seattle area homeless organizations. In his volunteer work he has been the leader of volunteer groups chartered with establishing homeless shelters in and around the Seattle area.

Randy earned his BBA in Accounting from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.
